Disclosure: No one actually this attractive is involved in our podcast project.

NMM goes multimedia:

“From Brooklyn, New York, this is the New Market Machines, a weekly podcast with news and views on global digital political economy: financial technology, financial markets, financial media.” First episode: A technical shakedown cruise and a rambling introduction to NMM’s 8 pillars of wisdom for covering technology as a “citizen journalist.”

I’ve set up a podcast page at pod0matic, after giving Odeo a try — and having the file upload feature fail on me. Twice.

Odeo Studio upload screen: It keeps going, and going, and going …

As I’m sure you’ll soon discover, I learned long ago, in my college radio days, that I have no talent for speaking extemporaneously into a microphone.

Still, having mastered the basics of Audacity now, and organized my podcast production directory so that I can easily record snippets when they come to me, for mixing into the weekly wrap-up, I think I might eventually evolve something interesting, time permitting.

Audacity: tracks and chunks

In the meantime, screw it: I’m having fun while beating the heat.

I made Neuza one of my patented transcontinental mixes last night, for instance, designed to demonstrate the deep affinities between Brazilian folk music, bluegrass, and Delta blues.

Stay tooned.
