Violence claimed another victim in Oaxaca with the execution of Pánfilo Hernández, an elementary school teacher from Zimatlán, who was shot around 9 p.m. by unknown persons traveling in a blue Jetta with mirrored windows.

In a press conference, Florentino López Martinez, spokesperson for the APPO, denounced the renewal of hostile acts against the teachers’ movement. He said that Hernández was shot three times in the abdomen by three unknown persons traveling in a blue Jetta, in the Colonia Járdin. The attackers may be the same that have been reported committed other shootings in the area of the central marketplace.
